ASICS has recently introduced the ASICS GEL-NIMBUS 26, a remarkable addition to its esteemed range. This latest edition introduces groundbreaking features that set new standards in running shoe technology.
The GEL-NIMBUS range has always been celebrated for its exceptional cushioning and support, and the 26th edition is no exception. It offers a blend of familiar comfort and innovative enhancements. The most notable update to the ASICS GEL-NIMBUS 26 is the introduction of HYBRID ASICSGRIP™ technology. This technology, combined with the AHARPLUS™ outsole rubber, offers runners unparalleled traction. It addresses a critical aspect of running safety – stability on wet and slippery surfaces – ensuring runners can train with confidence in all weather conditions.
But ASICS didn’t stop there. The GEL-NIMBUS 26 also features FF BLAST™ PLUS ECO cushioning, which was highly praised in its predecessor for its cloud-like cushioning. This innovative foam is made with 24% bio-based content sourced from sugar cane waste, underlining ASICS’ commitment to sustainability without compromising performance.

The midfoot fit of the shoe has been significantly improved thanks to an engineered knit upper and redesigned eyelet construction. This design change results in a softer yet more supportive fit around the metatarsus, which is critical for both comfort and performance on long runs. The upper is made from a lightweight, breathable knit material that enhances the overall experience by keeping feet cool and comfortable.
Another outstanding feature is PureGEL™ technology in the rear of the shoe. This material is 65% softer than conventional GEL™, providing a softer landing and plush feel with every stride. This technology not only enhances comfort, but also reduces stress on the feet during long runs.

Rohan van der Zwet, Senior Product Marketing Manager Performance Running at ASICS EMEA, emphasised the brand’s commitment to comfort, a key factor for runners when choosing footwear. The GEL-NIMBUS 26, he said, continues to lead the cushioning shoe segment, with a focus on enhancing its award-winning comfort. In addition, the introduction of CO2e labelling on the GEL-NIMBUS 26 is a significant step that reflects ASICS’ commitment to transparency in its sustainability efforts.
The GEL-NIMBUS 26 will be available from 15 January 2024 at ASICS retail stores, online at ASICS.com and in speciality running stores at a price of €200.
