French menswear designer Pierre-Louis Mascia is gearing up for a major moment at the upcoming edition of Pitti Uomo, the renowned Italian menswear trade fair. A longtime exhibitor at Pitti Uomo, Mascia will be taking his brand to the next level with his inaugural runway show, scheduled for June 13, 2024.
This marks a significant milestone for Mascia, who has steadily built a reputation for his unique and vibrant aesthetic. For several seasons, he has captivated audiences at Pitti Uomo with his captivating presentations. One notable example was his striking exhibition held at Palazzo Antinori in Florence back in January 2023. This event celebrated Mascia’s 15-year partnership with the esteemed Como-based manufacturing company Achille Pinto, a testament to his commitment to exceptional quality and craftsmanship.
The highly anticipated runway show will take place on June 13th at 6 pm local time, during the penultimate day of Pitti Uomo 106. While the specific location remains under wraps, anticipation is already brewing within the fashion world.
Expressing his excitement about the upcoming event, Mascia stated, “I am very happy to present my collection in this format, which is new for me, at Pitti Uomo, the fashion event that for the past 16 years has been fundamental for the launch of many of my collections. It’s a wonderful opportunity to convey my love for beauty and to express my creative vision that encompasses nature, culture, art and fashion. I will do my best to create something that is truly unique and surprising.“
The 106th edition of Pitti Uomo promises to be a star-studded affair, with renowned designers like Marine Serre and Paul Smith joining Mascia as guest participants. The full program of events and initiatives remains under wraps, but with such a prestigious roster already confirmed, expectations are running high.
Commenting on Mascia’s participation, Antonio Cristaudo, Director of Marketing and Development at Pitti Immagine, enthusiastically remarked, “The project-event that Pierre-Louis Mascia has developed for June reflects his strong ties with Florence and Pitti Uomo. Ever since the beginning we believed in the uniqueness of his vision: a strong stylistic imprint, the distinctive lines of his collections between graphic patterns and floral prints, archive research, and excellent materials.”
Mascia, who hails from Toulouse, France, launched his eponymous label in 2008. The brand’s inception stemmed from a fruitful collaboration with the Uliassi siblings, proprietors of the illustrious silk printer Achille Pinto. Initially focusing on a series of scarves, Mascia’s vision soon blossomed into a comprehensive line of apparel and accessories. Today, his signature style is defined by vibrant, meticulously crafted patchworks that seamlessly blend patterns and imagery, all brought to life by the exceptional printing expertise of Achille Pinto.
Further expanding his creative horizons, Mascia ventured into the world of interiors and homeware last January. This new chapter unfolded during Paris Men’s Fashion Week and coincided with the design fair Maison & Objet.
Pierre-Louis Mascia‘s brand boasts two flagship boutiques in Italy and is stocked by over 400 retailers worldwide. These include prestigious names like L’Eclaireur and Le Bon Marché in Paris, La Rinascente in Italy, Isetan in Tokyo, Joseph Tricot in London, and Bergdorf Goodman in New York City.
