While we are more than three months away from Christmas and the Holidays, the Nike Skateboarding division seems to prepare us already in advance of the festivities, with this new Nike Blue Ribbon SB in the colors of the “Grinch”.
The famous bogeyman, so recognizable with his green hair, seems to be popular at Nike since it has not only recently given his signature color to this Nike Dunk Low that he returns today to haunt the Nike Blue Ribbon SB, the new silhouette of the American outfitter announced last spring.
Just like the Nike Dunk Low, this Nike Blue Ribbon SB has a base, built in two parts, all dressed in green, the color of this grumpy and prankster who hates Christmas and everything that goes with it. The front half of the shoe is made of suede, with a slightly darker green, while the second back half is synthetic with a lighter green. We also notice that a mini Swoosh is embroidered on the front while the heel reinforcement is made of leather. For contrast, white mesh tabs with matching laces and red side Swooshes, the color of the Grinch’s Santa suit, complete the design.
Underfoot, an off-white herringbone outsole and matching tandem midsole finalize the look.
No release date has been announced at this time, but this Nike Blue Ribbon SB “Grinch” is expected to be released in the coming weeks, on Nike.com and at select retailers.
