Carlos Alcaraz, the world’s number one men’s singles tennis player, is the latest face of Calvin Klein’s “Calvins or nothing” ad campaign.
The Spanish tennis prodigy, who became the youngest-ever men’s world No. 1 at 19 years old, is featured in a series of raw portraits and videos directed by Gray Sorrenti. The black-and-white visuals showcase Alcaraz’s strength and confidence and reflect the sensuality the brand is known for.
The campaign, which began last fall with Maya Hawke and Romelu Lukaku, has since featured other top athletes in Calvin Klein underwear. In the new campaign, Alcaraz poses in the brand’s Modern Cotton, Cotton Stretch and Cotton Classic underwear, as well as the new Classic Straight jeans. He is also featured in select looks from the new Calvin Klein 1996 Underwear collection, which launches next week.
Jonathan Bottomley, Calvin Klein’s marketing director, said in an interview that the brand is one of the most iconic in the world and that they are used to working with emerging icons that shape today’s culture. He added that Carlos is one of the most exciting talents in recent years and that his confidence and artistry combine with a graceful physicality that captures the spirit of the brand. It should be noted that Carlos is sponsored by Nike for apparel and footwear and Babolat for racquets, and in January 2022 he became a brand ambassador for Rolex.
