This new year sees the reunion of Dr. Martens and UNDERCOVER, with a capsule inspired by cinema and arts and crafts.
The collection from Dr. Martens in collaboration with Japanese fashion brand UNDERCOVER and its designer Jun Takahashi is made in the original Dr. Martens factory in Wollaston, England. It includes three styles marked with a distinctive check pattern, as well as signatures of the UNDERCOVER and Dr. Martens logos.
Takahashi is one of Dr. Martens’ longest-standing design partners, and his countercultural, underground vision fits perfectly with the brand’s world. He even helped design the 1460 Remastered series, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.
This latest collaboration, inspired by Takahashi’s love of ’70s cinema, includes three new versions of the Original 1461 in black, cherry red and blue, each printed with a distinctive check pattern from UNDERCOVER’s archives and embossed with the brand’s signature “WE MAKE NOISE NOT CLOTHES.” The shoes are made in England with durable Smooth leather, black rope laces and eyelets, and Dr. Martens’ iconic yellow stitching. They also feature a sock lining, double logo and custom designed packaging.
