When it comes to showcasing extravagance and unparalleled craftsmanship, Rolls-Royce stands out in the automotive world, and the unveiling of “The Pearl Cullinan” serves as a testament to this legacy. Presented by the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Private Office in Dubaï, this unique bespoke commission is nothing short of a rolling work of art.
Secretly commissioned by a son to celebrate his father’s milestone birthday, this car is a profound gesture of love and respect. It features a fascia motif that holds a special place in the family’s heart-the Arabic symbol for “father,” meticulously inlaid in gleaming stainless steel. The car is a symbol of the deep bond between father and son, embodying values and memories cherished over decades.
Rolls-Royce has always been synonymous with luxury, and “The Pearl Cullinan” takes this to a whole new level, particularly in its use of mother-of-pearl. This is one of the most extensive uses of this exquisite material in a Rolls-Royce to date, and it lends its iridescent beauty to the central dial and clock surround. In addition, the rear picnic tables, hand-crafted at the brand’s Goodwood headquarters, feature a staggering 1,351 individually selected pieces of mother-of-pearl, demonstrating an attention to detail that is second to none.
The car’s exterior is as stunning as its interior, with a bespoke paint finish inspired by the owner’s most treasured pearl. This unique hue not only adds to the car’s visual appeal, but also ensures exclusivity as it is reserved exclusively for “The Pearl Cullinan”.
César Habib, Regional Director Middle East & Africa, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, said, ““The Pearl Cullinan” is a profound demonstration of our capabilities and stands as a prime example of our artistic and technical prowess. This project, initiated by our private office in Dubai, underlines our commitment to bringing the authentic Rolls-Royce experience to our discerning clientele in this region. It has been an honor to bring to life a motor car that holds such personal value and celebrates a remarkable family history.”

The story behind “The Pearl Cullinan” began in early 2022, when a long-time Rolls-Royce customer decided to celebrate his father’s 90th birthday with something truly special. This led to a series of personal interactions between the client’s father, César Habib, and Michelle Lusby, Bespoke Lead Designer, which laid the foundations for a motor car that is as personal as it is luxurious.
From the bespoke Pearl Rose exterior, which mimics the hue of the family’s prized pearl, to the hand-applied Rose Gold bodywork and meticulously crafted interior, every aspect of “The Pearl Cullinan” speaks volumes about the family’s heritage and the brand’s commitment to excellence.
The two-tone interior, with Cashmere Grey for the front seats and Ardent Red for the rear, pays homage to the family’s legacy in the pearl trade. The burr walnut veneer, reminiscent of traditional pearl presentation boxes, and the intricate mother-of-pearl inlays are not just details; they are a celebration of history and craftsmanship.
With “The Pearl Cullinan,” Rolls-Royce has once again demonstrated that automobiles can be much more than machines; they can be heartfelt tributes, objects of art and timeless treasures. As Michelle Lusby puts it, “Emotions inspire our imagination” and with “The Pearl Cullinan,” those words have never rung truer.
