Almost a month after the first drop of their collaboration – the first of a trio of drops – MCM and PUMA have unveiled the second episode of their partnership where the PUMA Slipstream Lo Retro takes center stage.
“Show Up” is the name of this second drop, revisiting the PUMA Slipstream Lo Retro, originally launched as a basketball shoe in 1987 and then re-released in the 2000s with extravagant colorways. Reinvented and revisited many times, while staying true to its basketball heritage, the MCM x PUMA Slipstream Lo Retro this time sports a rather simple and minimalist design, with a black leather base, adorned with black and white details including MCM’s cubic monogram pattern in place of the PUMA Formstrips – on the previous silhouette, it was the MCM Visetos monogram that was chosen.
Underfoot, a caramel brown “AIR SHOCK SYSTEM” midsole and a black gum outsole complete the design.
The two partners chose high school track prodigy Mikey Williams to stage the collaborative pair.
