After the car in the brand’s colors, the German discount chain Lidl has struck a new marketing blow, calling on the former French international Djibril Cissé to create a collection of apparel.
Already muse of the brand, notably in the recent advertising campaign of Lidl, called “Vous aimez déjà Lidl” (“You already love Lidl”), the 41 years old ex-French footballer is back, but this time as a fashion collaborator.
Released just before the final of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 that opposes France to Argentina, the collection is composed of a fleece sweater in the colors so recognizable from the brand, a jacket like sheep fur cream, accompanied by jogging pants of the same color, two pairs of sneakers – one in the signature colors (yellow, blue and red) of Lidl and the other, in a more neutral shade, boxers, but also accessories, such as hats, a bob hat, socks and fanny packs.
According to the press release, between Lidl and the former footballer, it is a great love story that goes back to the early 90s. The teenager then aged 10 used to accompany his mother to shop at Lidl in Arles (France). A routine that has definitely marked his memories, so much so that he regularly shows his affection to the brand on social networks, as a day of July 2020 when he shows himself on Instagram with colored sneakers Lidl on his feet, arousing a surprisingly real craze of his fans for these products.
This new collection probably won’t escape a new rush!
