Tiffany & Co. and Nike recently caused a buzz on the Internet with their announcement of their Nike Air Force 1 Low collaboration. The anticipation surrounding the release of the shoes was evident on social media platforms as the sneaker community eagerly awaited a formal reveal. This partnership comes as no surprise as Nike has always collaborated with leading brands to create memorable and viral moments.
Sneakerheads have high expectations for this collaboration. We remember the bar set by Diamond Supply Co.’s legendary SB Dunk Low from 2005, dubbed the “Tiffany” because of its signature blue color and considered the best SB Dunk pair ever created. This partnership marks a new chapter in the relationship between Tiffany & Co. and the sneaker community, as the luxury jeweler finally joins forces with Nike to produce a legendary pair of shoes.
The Air Force 1 Low collaboration is part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the iconic sneakers. The shoes retain the classic black nubuck upper and tumbled leather Swoosh, but the chrome appliques on the heel and etched tongue labels add a touch of luxury. The thick roped shoelaces, similar to those found on Tiffany & Co. pouch cords and bag handles, add an extra level of sophistication. The collaboration is named “1837,” after the sub-division of Tiffany & Co.’s product line inspired by its founding year.
To celebrate the launch, Tiffany & Co. will release a limited edition collection of sterling silver products, including a whistle, shoehorn, shoe brush, and a lace dubrae. These products will be available on Tiffany.com in the United States.
