For Rolls-Royce, understanding their clientele goes beyond mere transactions. Many Rolls-Royce owners are power players in the international fashion, design, and super-luxury scene, shaping global trends with their discerning taste. The new Rolls-Royce Ghost Prism caters precisely to this elite group, drawing inspiration from the world of contemporary design and translating it into a striking automotive statement.
“Our clients are tastemakers who set trends,” says Anders Warming, Director of Design at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. “Ghost Prism is an extension of the personal aesthetic of a specific group within our clientele. The car’s use of dark, neutral tones punctuated by pops of color places it firmly within the contemporary luxury landscape.”
The Rolls-Royce Ghost Prism embodies this philosophy with a captivating interplay of light and shadow. The exterior boasts a stunning Gunmetal finish, achieved through a meticulous 10-step process. Four layers of paint are painstakingly applied, followed by a 16-hour hand-polishing process, resulting in a rich, mineral depth. This dark canvas is then contrasted with high-gloss Burnout trim – a smoked black-grey hue – on the grille and rear lid. This unique finish is achieved by Rolls-Royce’s expert artisans, who hand-prepare each piece using a light abrasive before applying four coats of paint. The final touch comes with individual polishing, ensuring a flawless match to the rest of the car’s gleaming bodywork.
Understated elegance defines the rest of the exterior. The front bumper and side profile feature a deep gloss black finish, further complementing the overall theme. But Rolls-Royce doesn’t shy away from personalization. Clients can choose from four bold accent colors – Phoenix Red, Turchese, Mandarin, and Forge Yellow – to personalize their Ghost Prism. This chosen color adorns the lower bumper inserts, brake calipers, and a coachline, creating a striking visual connection between the car’s mechanical, aerodynamic, and sculptural elements.
The subtle pops of color continue inside the Rolls-Royce Ghost Prism. The Bespoke Starlight Headliner features 1,040 hand-inserted colored stars, each meticulously placed and meticulously chalked for a mesmerizing nighttime ambiance. While clients have the freedom to personalize the interior with a near-infinite palette of Bespoke colors, early Ghost Prism commissions showcase a light and vibrant interior that beautifully offsets the car’s bold exterior presence.
