Calling all sneakerheads with divided loyalties, the swoosh is dropping a fresh collection that lets you represent both your favorite brand and your alma mater. The new Nike Air Max Solo “NCAA Pack” takes the relatively unknown Air Max Solo silhouette and injects it with a healthy dose of college spirit.
This isn’t the first time Nike has tapped into the passionate world of NCAA athletics. They’ve built a legacy of collaborating with universities on special edition kicks, often using team-specific Jordans. The Air Max Solo “NCAA Pack” follows a similar playbook, offering eleven unique colorways dedicated to Nike-sponsored schools.
If you’re a die-hard fan of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Oregon, Oregon State, Penn State, Tennessee, or Texas, there’s probably a Solo waiting to match your school colors. Each shoe features a vibrant color scheme splashed across the toe box, collar and base, all under a breathable mesh upper. Look closer and you’ll find college logos proudly displayed on the tongues and insoles, leaving no doubt about your team allegiance.
The Air Max Solo itself may be a new face on the block, making its debut in 2023. This hybrid silhouette blends design elements from past Air Max greats. The visible Air unit takes clear inspiration from the Air Max 180, offering a glimpse of technology through its textured exterior. Meanwhile, the cupped heel borrows from the iconic Air Max 90 for a familiar and comfortable fit. Material-wise, the Solo sticks to a proven formula, using a combination of breathable mesh and durable suede panels for a classic aesthetic.
While a release date hasn’t been officially announced, you can expect the Nike Air Max Solo “NCAA Pack” to hit Nike’s website and select retailers later this year. With a budget-friendly price tag of $100 per pair, these college-themed kicks offer a chance to show your school pride without breaking the bank.
