The Nike Air Max Plus lineage is a storied one, instantly recognizable by its undulating lines and visible Air units. But the brand isn’t afraid to innovate within its classics, and the Air Max Plus Drift stands as a testament to that. This contemporary take on the Air Max Plus aesthetic has garnered a dedicated following since its debut, and its latest colorway, the “Concord,” injects a summery vibe into the silhouette.
Scheduled for a summer 2024 release, the Air Max Plus Drift “Concord” strikes a balance between heritage and fresh appeal. The shoe’s defining characteristic, the bulky TPU cage, takes a backseat in a solid grey, allowing the “Concord” hue to take center stage. This titular shade drapes the tongue, lining, midsole, and TPU underlays that snake across the upper.
The real eye-catcher, however, is the base gradient. It starts with a cool blue at the forefoot, subtly transitioning to a crisp white at the heel. This gradient evokes a “dusk” aesthetic, perfectly complementing the pops of “Concord” throughout the shoe. It’s a colorway that whispers summer evenings and breezy walks, a refreshing take on the familiar Air Max Plus design.
While a firm release date remains under wraps, sneakerheads can expect the Air Max Plus Drift “Concord” to hit Nike Sportswear retailers and on Nike.com sometime this summer. Retail price is set at $185 USD.
