Maserati, the iconic Italian luxury carmaker, marked a significant milestone in its 110-year history with the highly anticipated “Folgore Day” event in Rimini, Italy. The Trident brand, known for its racing successes and creating some of the most iconic cars in international motoring history, officially entered the electric car market with the launch of its Folgore range.
The event, held on April 15, 2024, showcased Maserati’s commitment to electrification, innovation, and luxury in the best Italian tradition. The Folgore range, which includes the GranTurismo Folgore, Grecale Folgore, GranCabrio Folgore, and the upcoming MC20 Folgore super sports car, represents the brand’s future around the world.
Maserati CEO Davide Grasso spoke about the brand’s long-term vision focused on the new Folgore range and its activities, emphasizing the company’s role as an ambassador for Italy in the world of luxury. The Trident brand aims to have a fully electrified range by 2028, with all models designed, developed, and produced in Italy, particularly at the historic plant on Viale Ciro Menotti in Modena.
The “Folgore Day” event featured three thematic areas dedicated to electric mobility, the Maserati Fuoriserie customization program, and TRIDENTE, an all-electric luxury motorboat developed in collaboration with Vita Power. Attendees had the opportunity to witness the rolling chassis of the Grecale Folgore, the heart of the Trident’s 100% electric SUV, and the front and rear axles and battery pack of the GranTurismo Folgore.
Maserati also launched its “It turns you on” campaign, starring Italian musician Damiano David, which celebrates the brand’s passion, vision, innovation, and Italian spirit in the context of their new electric era. The campaign, directed by Gabriele Mainetti and photographed by Paolo Zerbini and Max Sarotto, tells the story of life and how it seizes and lights up the heart, enjoyed on board Maserati’s three Folgore creations.
The Folgore range represents Maserati’s commitment to sustainable mobility without compromising on performance, elegance, and craftsmanship. As the first 100% Italian luxury brand to produce full-electric models in the Motor Valley, Maserati is poised to lead the way in the luxury electric car market, offering a compelling blend of cutting-edge technology, refined elegance, and distinctive performance.
