Dr. Martens is returning to its punk rock roots with The Clash. The British shoe brand and the legendary rock band have teamed up again for a limited edition collaboration.
Dr. Martens and The Clash have had a great love affair for 46 years. Founded in 1976 in the London suburb of Ladbroke Grove by Paul Simonon, Topper Headon, Mick Jones and Joe Strummer, The Clash is a major band in the history of rock, especially British rock. They met their first success with the first album, soberly titled The Clash, followed by five studio albums – Give ’em enough rope in 1978, London calling in 1979, Sandinista! in 1980, Combat Rock in 1982 and Cut the Crap’ in 1985, which propelled them into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
Driven by the same passion for rock and a rebellious attitude that has become their signature, they were also united by the same distinctive sign: a pair of Dr. Martens.
Moved by this loyalty, the British footwear brand pays tribute to the iconic rock band with a two-part shoe collection: “Made in England” and “Inline“, each featuring two models: the Boot 1460 and the Derbie 1461.
The first “Made in England” collection uses the same handcraft techniques from the same factory as the pairs The Clash first strapped on over 40 years ago.
The 1460 8-eye Boot and 1461 3-eye Derby are constructed from the same smooth leather that was used on the very first Dr. Martens produced. The heels are branded with the instantly recognizable Clash logo. Each pair comes equipped with a set of dog tags based on those worn by the band and 7 sets of laces inspired by the colors of their most iconic albums.

The second “Inline” collection features the same two shoes, this time made of high-gloss “Arcadia” leather, with a base dye and contrast top-coat. The top-coat rubs will fade over time to reveal the original color. The Boot 1460 has a military green base, while the Derbie 1461 a cherry red, selected by the group from the colours from their albums Sandinista! and The Clash artwork. Each pair features The Clash logo on the heel and comes with dog tags.
