adidas TERREX is setting the trail world ablaze with the launch of the Agravic Speed Ultra, a shoe designed to propel ambitious runners to new heights. This innovative offering joins the Agravic family, boasting technology derived from adidas‘ record-breaking road shoes and informed by scientific research to become the ultimate companion for conquering ultramarathons.
The Agravic Speed Ultra is a meticulously crafted instrument for peak performance. Borrowing from the winning formula of the Adizero Adios franchise, the Agravic Speed Ultra incorporates LIGHTSTRIKE PRO foam for exceptional energy absorption. But that’s just the first layer. Embedded within the midsole are revolutionary Energy Rods, designed to propel you forward with each stride. Finally, the shoe features a groundbreaking dynamic rocker geometry, enabling a smooth and efficient forefoot strike – a crucial element for navigating technical terrain.
The development of the Agravic Speed Ultra wasn’t driven solely by intuition. adidas partnered with the University of Salzburg to pinpoint the decisive factors in ultramarathon trail running. Their findings highlighted the paramount importance of downhill sections, influencing the shoe’s design to excel on these fast and demanding stretches.
The Agravic family doesn’t stop there. Alongside the Speed Ultra, adidas introduces the Agravic Speed. This lightweight shoe caters to runners seeking blistering pace on medium-distance trails up to 50 kilometers.
To celebrate the arrival of the Agravic family, adidas TERREX is offering an extraordinary opportunity for aspiring trail runners. The adidas TERREX Strava challenge kicks off on April 8th, with the top six performers (who conquer the 500-meter mark) and subsequent raffle winners receiving an exclusive mentorship program. This once-in-a-lifetime experience grants personalized coaching sessions led by world-class trail runners and coaches Corrine Malcolm and Eric LiPuma. But that’s not all. Mentees will also gain access to tailored support, sports psychologists, and a complete running outfit – including a pair of the coveted Agravic Speed Ultra. The mentorship program culminates in a prestigious race at the adidas TERREX Infinite Trails in Bad Hofgastein, Austria, in September 2024.
The adidas TERREX Agravic Speed Ultra and Agravic Speed are available for purchase starting April 1st, 2024, on the adidas website, app, and select retailers.
