This season, the designers behind UNIFORME, Hugues Fauchard and Rémi Bats, have returned to the essentials of their brand, perfecting the simplicity and minimalism that is the foundation of their clothing line.
The collection, called “Counting Sheep,” is inspired by the idea of taking the time to find peace and relaxation in nature. The designers envision the UNIFORME man stretching out in a field, counting sheep to find comfort and space to dream in clothes that give a sense of protection, softness, and ease.
The collection features soft colors and textures, primarily expressed through wool and cotton fabrics. The colors range from ecru to dark green, khaki, and brown and are presented in monochrome silhouettes. The collection also includes oversized knits and a return of the camouflage aesthetic, this time in tonal looks.
In addition to traditional clothing pieces, the collection includes a crossbody bag, a balaclava, and a utilitarian apron, all inspired by vintage military gear. The collection also includes a fresh approach to utilitarian tailoring, featuring pieces in compact Japanese cotton with a micro-chevron weave reminiscent of military fabrics.
Super 130s Wool & Cashmere, a material typically reserved for made-to-measure suiting, is used to create relaxed yet tailored wardrobe staples. An overcoat in technical cotton produced by British Millerain features soldered seams for impermeability and gaiter-like details. Denim is new to the collection this season, produced in a soft GOTS cotton-linen blend from Italy. Each piece is unique due to tiny impurities in the weave that evoke nature’s beauty.
Lastly, UNIFORME presents its first line of underwear, produced entirely from leftover fabrics. The collection as a whole is a chic and intuitive approach to work-and-home wear, blending a country mindset with city wear. The designers believe that these are the wardrobe staples they have always wanted to create, and it represents their philosophy of conscious minimalism.
