As the holiday season approaches, luxury hotels and France’s top pastry chefs continue to unveil their exclusive creations that will proudly sit on our holiday table. This time, the Sofitel Le Scribe Paris Opéra unveils its signature Christmas log. A gourmet creation that pays homage to the historic façade of the 5-star hotel located just steps from the Opéra Garnier.
Pastry chef Antoine Bouchard doesn’t have to look far for inspiration, especially when he works in an establishment with a rich history. Indeed, the recently renovated Sofitel Le Scribe Paris Opéra, located just steps away from the Opéra Garnier, Place Vendôme and the Louvre pyramid, is a masterpiece of Haussmannian architecture. The prestigious establishment is also known to film buffs and history lovers for having hosted the world’s very first film screening, on December 28, 1895 by the Lumière brothers.
Inspired by the mythical history of his establishment, Antoine Bouchard has imagined a sublime Christmas log in the image of the mythical hotel, reinterpreting the famous Opera dessert.

Beneath the crunchy dark chocolate façade lies a delicious brownie cookie, a coffee crunch, a creamy chocolate, Xoco cocoa 70% pure Nicaragua origin, a coffee caramel, accompanied by a coffee cream and a cappuccino mousse grand cru Terre de café Himalaya.
This gluten-free log is light and gourmet, with a delicate chocolate-coffee taste, and is a real link between the past and the present, to be consumed without moderation.
