It has become a tradition since 1999! Every year, as the Lunar New Year (Tết for the Vietnamese) approaches, Swatch launches a special edition celebrating the transition to the new year for more than a billion people in the Asian world.
This year is no exception. For the Year of the Water Rabbit, which begins on January 22, the Swiss watch brand is releasing a NEW GENT BIOCERAMIC in red, the color par excellence of prosperity and happiness in Asia.
The special Lunar New Year 2023 edition features a bright red dial and strap, highlighted by gold accents on the rabbit, which occupies a large part of the dial, on the border of the dial and on the “numbers” represented by the three-leaf clover, also a symbol of good luck.
Good observers will also notice that the hands have been replaced by rabbit ears that indicate the hours and minutes, while the strap loop is also embellished with rabbit ears. These ears are also printed in gold on the beautiful square red case.
