Sennheiser is expanding its soundbar lineup, with two new arrivals: the new AMBEO Soundbar Plus and the AMBEO Sub offering a breathtaking immersive sound experience.
These two new soundbars, presented at IFA 2022 in Berlin, build “on the success of the award-winning AMBEO Soundbar Max, ranked by reviewers as the best soundbar in the world,” according to the German manufacturer whose reputation is well established in the audio world.
Sennheiser AMBEO Soundbar Plus
Smaller than its predecessor, 105.1 x 7.7 x 12.1 cm against 126.5 x 13.5 x 17.1 cm for the AMBEO Soundbar Max, the AMBEO Soundbar Plus offers no less than exceptional immersive sound quality. It is powered by the same revolutionary 3D sound as the AMBEO Soundbar Max, which was released three years ago and was developed in collaboration with the world’s leading audio research and development, the Fraunhofer-Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS.
Indeed, the soundbar can project sound from any corner of the room, measuring the room’s acoustic properties and then positioning seven virtual speakers around the listener, plus four more overhead. This breathtaking sound quality is achieved through two 4-inch woofers and seven 2-inch full-range speakers for a total power output of 400 W. The AMBEO Soundbar Plus is also compatible with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, 360 Reality Audio and MPEG-H Audio as well as several music streaming services, such as Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect and TIDAL Connect. It also features a built-in Chromecast and integration with Alexa Built-in and Apple Siri.
On the connectivity side, the soundbar features an HDMI eARC 2.1 output, two HDMI 2.0a inputs, an S/PDIF optical audio input, an RCA auxiliary input, an RJ45 jack, and USB-A connectivity, and it is compatible with Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 6.

Sennheiser AMBEO Sub
The German manufacturer is also using IFA 2022 to unveil its new subwoofer, the AMBEO Sub. Powered by AMBEO virtualization technology, the subwoofer delivers natural, immersive sound, thanks to its extremely deep bass down to 27 Hz produced by a proprietary high-end 8-inch woofer, paired with a 350W Class D amplifier. With its advanced self-calibration system and microphone, the AMBEO Sub can measure the room’s acoustic properties and then adapt to each environment to deliver a unique sound experience. Plus, its multi-sub array technology lets you connect up to four subwoofers, while its wireless connection keeps your room free of wires.
The AMBEO Sounbar Plus is priced at €1499, and the AMBEO Sub at €699. Both can be pre-ordered now for availability from September 22.
