The Porsche 911, born from the ingenious mind of Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, has transformed over the years into a symbol of engineering excellence and innovative design. To mark this significant milestone, PUMA and Porsche have teamed up to release two exclusive limited-edition sneaker models: the Retro Sneaker and the Heritage Sneaker. Both sneakers are intricately designed to reflect the rich history and vibrant present of the Porsche 911, showcasing a blend of elegance, sportiness, and sophistication.
The Porsche 911, since its inception, has been a marvel in the automotive world, captivating enthusiasts globally with its design and engineering mastery. To celebrate 60 years of this iconic vehicle, PUMA and Porsche have meticulously crafted two limited-edition sneaker models that pay tribute to the historic and contemporary embodiments of the Porsche 911.
The Retro Sneaker is inspired by the historic Porsche 911 S 2.5 from 1972, encapsulating the essence of this classic vehicle. It features a slim silhouette that echoes the design of the classic 911, adorned with an elegant light blue colorway that mirrors the car’s iconic exterior shade. Additionally, the starting number 56 on the heel pays homage to the origins of the 911, establishing a connection to its cherished past. Limited to just 1,972 pairs, a tribute to the car’s birth year, each Retro Sneaker is individually numbered and marked by the iconic Porsche lettering on the top of the leather flap. Other distinctive elements include the grill badge, a circular emblem, and the 60 Years of Porsche 911 logo, all of which enhance the sporty character of the sneaker, resulting in a true footwear masterpiece.
On the other hand, the Heritage Sneaker pays tribute to the modern embodiment of the Porsche 911, specifically the new 911 S/T. This sleek sneaker, inspired by the sporty demeanor of the anniversary car, boasts a modern and dynamic silhouette. The smooth leather construction, colored in a sophisticated gray hue reminiscent of the anniversary car’s exterior, exudes a sense of luxury. Additionally, the inclusion of the starting number 63, marking the year of the 911’s inception, adds a personal touch to this limited edition sneaker, which is available in only 1,963 pairs. Similar to the Retro Sneaker, the Heritage Sneaker also features individual numbering on the underside of the textile tongue, and the grill badge woven label with the 60 Years of Porsche 911 logo in color, highlighting its sporty aura.
These highly coveted PUMA X Porsche limited edition 911 sneakers will be available exclusively on puma.com in North America starting September 14, and in Europe from September 24. Additionally, these sought-after sneakers can also be purchased on shop.porsche.com and will be available at the Porsche Museum store in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, as well as the Porsche factory stores in Zuffenhausen and Weissach, from September 6.
