A football jersey represents more than just an article of clothing. It’s an emblem of unity, tradition, and heritage, a silent yet profound storyteller. This season, PUMA, in partnership with AC Milan, has brought to life a new narrative that beautifully encapsulates football’s grandeur, Milan’s fashion prowess, and the quintessential spirit of the city.
Unveiling AC Milan’s Away kit for the 2023/24 season, PUMA has married the traditions of football with the style of Milan’s iconic fashion houses. Coined as ‘The Lucky One’, the white Away kit, first introduced in 1910, has enjoyed a victorious legacy, claiming glory in six European finals. This year, its newest iteration is an artistic homage to the enduring legacy of the club, the fashion industry’s cutting-edge, and the city’s stunning design landscape.
PUMA’s Senior Head of Product Line Management Teamsport Apparel, Marco Mueller, voiced his enthusiasm for the innovative design. “Both PUMA and AC Milan are deeply rooted in football heritage. We believe we have created a kit that sits perfectly on the intersection of football, fashion and design, echoing the spirit of Milan, a city known for both football and fashion,” he stated.
Newcomer Christian Pulisic mirrored Mueller’s excitement. “I am thrilled to be part of a Club as historic and iconic as AC Milan. I believe the fans will love this kit, which beautifully captures the essence of AC Milan’s rich heritage. As players, we feel an extra surge of confidence knowing that we carry the legacy of AC Milan’s rich heritage with us,” Pulisic said.
On the business side of things, AC Milan’s Chief Revenue Officer, Casper Stylsivg, acknowledged the seamless integration of heritage and innovation in the new design. He highlighted that this modern interpretation of the classic white kit symbolizes the Club’s commitment to honor tradition while embracing change.
Crafted with the finest technology, the Authentic jersey features ULTRAWEAVE fabric, promising a lightweight, 4-way stretch design for optimal performance and comfort on the pitch. With dryCELL technology integrated into the fabric, it ensures sweat-free gameplay for the athletes.
Conscious of sustainability, PUMA has ensured that the Replica version is made with 100% recycled polyester, outfitted with the same dryCELL sweat-wicking technology, ensuring comfort for the fans. By opting for 100% recycled materials (excluding the trims and decorations), PUMA and AC Milan have subtly nudged their fans towards a more eco-friendly future.
In true celebration of football and fashion, PUMA and AC Milan will host an exclusive event in Los Angeles as part of their pre-season tour, spotlighting AC Milan players and local influencers. This grand introduction of the new kit will take place at The Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena on July 23rd, where AC Milan will face off against Real Madrid as part of the Soccer Champions Tour 2023.
The 2023/24 AC Milan Away kit, a splendid fusion of football, fashion, and design, will be available from July 20th at PUMA stores, PUMA.com, all AC Milan stores, store.acmilan.com, and select retailers worldwide.
