The watchmaking industry is buzzing with excitement as Swatch teases the arrival of a new piece in its OMEGA X Swatch MoonSwatch collection. Following the worldwide success of the collaboration, the new watch, called the OMEGA x Swatch Mission to Moonshine Gold, is set to be unveiled on March 7th in four select cities – Paradeplatz/Peterhof in Zurich, Tokyo Stock Exchange in Tokyo, Piazza Affari/Galleria Meravigli in Milan and The Royal Exchange in London.
The MoonSwatch Collection
In 2022, Swiss watchmaker Swatch teamed up with luxury watchmaker OMEGA for the highly anticipated MoonSwatch collaboration. The collection comprised 11 different Bioceramic MoonSwatch watches, each named after a mission to a celestial body in our solar system, from the sun to the dwarf planet Pluto. The watches were based on the OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch, which was famously worn by NASA astronauts on all their piloted missions, including the moon landings.
The Mission to Moonshine Gold
The latest addition to the collection, the OMEGA x Swatch Mission to Moonshine Gold, has sparked a lot of excitement among watch enthusiasts. Swatch posted a teaser on its official Instagram account showing a glimpse of the moon and the release date of the watch. However, the teaser does not reveal anything about the watch’s design or whether it will be a limited-edition piece.
It is not yet known if the new watch will be made of actual gold or if it will have a golden hue. The price of the watch will largely depend on this factor. The original MoonSwatch collection already has a Mission to the Moon watch, designed like OMEGA’s original Moonwatch, with a steel gray color and white hands and tachymeter scale.

The Unveiling
The OMEGA x Swatch Mission to Moonshine Gold will be unveiled in four select cities at different times, with each unveiling starting at 6:30 pm JST in Japan, 7:00 pm CET in Switzerland and Italy, and 6:00 pm GMT in the UK. It is unclear if the watch will only be available at these four locations or if it will be available for purchase globally.
Following the release of the original MoonSwatch collection in multiple cities around the world, long queues were seen at the stores, and there was even commotion reported at some locations. The massive demand prompted Swatch to limit the watch to one per person at the time.
