As the fourth U.S. Open (Golf): The Country Club 2022 will take place from June 16 to 19 in Brookline, Massachusetts, a suburb west of Boston, Nike is celebrating the event with a Nike Air Max 90 Golf that confirms streetwear’s strong move onto the green.
The sneaker comes with a white base and a complementary color palette that draws its inspiration from the location of the event, the state of Massachusetts.
Thus, we notice the red, reminiscent of freshwater lobster, a popular dish in the region, which comes to dress the heel-tab and heel reinforcement and the mudguard. The latter is complemented by a dark blue, a nod to water, present on the Nike branding on the tongue and on “Air Max” on the lateral sides as well as on the side Swoosh half hidden by the mudguard. On the insole, we see “Golf” printed in orange while an orange rubber puffy hangtag shows a lobster graphic, accompanied by a mini Swoosh.
A spikeless outsole and a Phylon foam midsole with an Air unit complete the design.
This Nike Air Max 90 Golf “Surf And Turf” is expected to be released in the coming weeks on Nike.com and at select retailers for around $130.
