New Era is expanding its playground, collaborating with Alpha Industries on a special baseball-themed capsule collection.
Mark Maidment, New Era‘s senior vice president, had a soft spot in his youth for Alpha Industries jackets. And when the opportunity of a collaboration with the American manufacturer known worldwide for its flight jackets arose, he jumped at the chance to accept the challenge.
The collaboration is also an opportunity for both New Era and Alpha Industries to expand the categories in which they have specialized for many years: in sportswear for the first and headwear for the second.
The result of this partnership between the two brands is a wide range of headwear including no less than twelve models based on two iconic New Era 59FIFTY and Trucker silhouettes.
All caps feature an Alpha touch with the brand’s iconic red “REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT” label attached to the left side, while the front of each cap is embroidered with the logos of MLB teams such as the Houston Astros, LA Dodgers, Oakland Athletics or NY Yankees. Each 59FIFTY is available in classic MLB team colors while the Trucker style follows a uniform black base with olive green MLB logos.
Another star of the collection is the Alpha Industries MA-1 jacket, revisited here with embroidered patches featuring the MLB New York Yankees and World Series logos, reminiscent of a fusion of a varsity and an aviator jacket.
