Nanushka Fall 2023 collection, Shape Shifting, was presented in the label’s showroom and showcased the brand’s commitment to quiet luxury. The CEO of Nanushka, Peter Baldaszti, and the label’s creative director, Sandra Sándor, believe that the focus should be on the quality, details, and beauty of the product rather than on the entertainment industry.
Sándor explored the idea of garments transforming into different shapes through zipping and fastening activities. The collection also transgressed feminine silhouettes and details into the menswear line, keeping the distinction fluid. The collection had more polish and an inventive feel while still maintaining its utilitarian character. The regenerated alt-leather Okobor was used throughout the collection, adding to the luxurious feel of the pieces.
Nanushka has always embraced strict codes of sustainability, and this collection was no exception. The brand’s industrial, urban, and utilitarian look was infused with elements rooted in Hungarian tradition and folklore, creating a new heritage for the label. The collection’s versatile pieces and modern renditions of Hungarian ornate symbols and decorative references expanded on these codes.
The collection was a testament to Nanushka’s focus on the product and its commitment to making its products stand out. Sándor concluded, “We are committed to making our products stand out; our attention is totally focused on that. We need no brand ambassadors.” With Shape Shifting, Nanushka once again proved that quiet luxury can be just as impactful as a loud show filled with celebrities and screaming crowds..
