The Mizuno x Pieter Ceizer collaboration brings together Mizuno’s Japanese craftsmanship and Pieter Ceizer’s innovative Dutch design approach, offering a unique aesthetic and functional experience.
From the vibrant streets of Amsterdam to the elegant boulevards of Paris, Dutch illustrator and designer Pieter Ceizer has made a remarkable journey. Growing up surrounded by the visually rich and creative world of street art, Ceizer’s aesthetics have been deeply shaped by this dynamism, which continue to inform his current body of work.
Pieter’s artistic journey can be traced back to his skateboarding days in Museumplein, Amsterdam. It was there that he became captivated by the artistic language of graffiti, a fascination that inspired him to create his first works using spray paint. Despite this early passion, his creative evolution led him away from street art and towards a more refined form of expression, leading him to study graphic design and typography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague.
Today, Ceizer’s artistic approach is characterized by typographical works that blur the boundaries between abstraction and literal representation. His paintings and wooden pieces often feature simplistic monoline drawings and hand lettering, enveloped in vibrant color schemes. This unique style, fuelled by his dreamlike and positive ethos, has not only found a home in art galleries but has also transcended into the world of fashion and design.

Ceizer’s broad creative palette has enabled him to collaborate with several leading brands such as Coca Cola, Ralph Lauren, Uniqlo, Nike, Heineken, Adobe, and Colette. However, one of his most noteworthy collaborations is with the Japanese sportswear brand Mizuno. Their first partnership was a heartfelt tribute to Amsterdam, but their latest collaboration steps into the heart of Paris, the city Ceizer currently calls home.
The latest Mizuno Contender Ceizer sneakers capture the essence of Parisian summer through the French expression “Garde la Pêche“, or “Keep the Morale“. This design is brought to life with light orange, yellow, and off-white tones, subtly accentuated with green and red to add depth and richness. Much like Ceizer’s art, the shoes encapsulate a joyful and dynamic energy, a nod to both the summer season and a state of good form and strength.
No detail in the Mizuno x Pieter Ceizer sneaker has been overlooked, a testament to both Ceizer’s artistic sensibilities and Mizuno’s commitment to quality. The shoes feature the unique signatures “Garde” and “La Pêche” on the heels, while the names “Mizuno” and “Ceizer” adorn the tongues. A carefully selected mix of casual materials, including a grocery bag-inspired canvas base contrasted with suede and textured leather, adds to the overall charm of the shoes.
The Mizuno x Pieter Ceizer sneakers are now available on Mizuno.com and at select retailers, priced at €140.
