Boxing legends Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield are teaming up to launch a line of cannabis edibles that nods to the most shocking moment of Tyson’s career.
They were rivals for many years in the ring, but now make peace with each other in the business. Indeed, the two former boxing champions have just launched the “Holy Ears” range of gummies, shaped like ears, with fruity tastes and infused with THC – from the cannabinoid family, THC is a tetrahydrocannabinol, the main active molecule of cannabis. Its consumption generates psychoactive effects, unlike CBD, on the human body.
Commercialized through Mike Tyson’s Tyson 2.0 Global company, in which Holyfield is set to launch his own line next year, “Holy Ears” makes an ironic nod to the infamous 1997 heavyweight boxing match between the two boxing titans. In that fight won by Holyfied, Mike Tyson was disqualified for biting off a chunk of his rival’s ear.
“Mike and I have a long history of competition and respect for one another. And that night changed both of our lives. Back then, we didn’t realize that even as power athletes, we were also in a lot of pain. Now, nearly 20 years later, we have the opportunity to share the medicine we really needed throughout our careers,” Holyfield said in a statement.
As for Mike Tyson, he shared on his Twitter account, “If i was on cannabis, I wouldn’t have bit [Holyfield’s] ear.”
Holy Ears gum contains 25 mg of THC per candy and comes in three flavors: “Cherry Pie Punch,” “Sour Apple Punch” and “Black Eye Berry.” The gums are all-natural, vegan and gluten-free.
