Two of the world’s most iconic brands, McLaren Automotive and the LEGO Group, have come together to celebrate 60 years of McLaren with the launch of the first-ever hypercar and supercar double pack: the LEGO Speed Champions.
The set features two of McLaren‘s most recognizable supercars, the McLaren F1 LM and the McLaren Solus GT.
The LEGO versions of the cars are designed with authentic details from their real-life counterparts, including the limited-edition F1 LM in its distinctive papaya orange color and the Solus GT’s central driving seat and prominent wheel arches. The double-pack also includes two McLaren branded driver minifigures.
The Solus GT, born from a virtual gaming world concept, is a testament to McLaren’s technical innovation and design language. The 581-piece set also features a high-downforce rear wing, making it a perfect addition for any McLaren supercar enthusiast.
Sixty years ago, Bruce McLaren, a New Zealand-born racer and engineer, established the McLaren racing team, which has since become one of the world’s most successful names in motorsport. The team is the only one to have won the “Triple Crown of Motorsport” with victories in the Monaco Grand Prix, Indianapolis 500, and Le Mans 24 Hours.
The LEGO Group and McLaren first joined forces in 2015 and have since created six LEGO Speed Champions McLaren cars and two LEGO Technic McLaren models. In celebration of McLaren’s 60th anniversary and the launch of the first double-pack, designers from both companies recently gathered at the LEGO headquarters in Billund, Denmark.
“This was the perfect opportunity to come together with LEGO and celebrate some of the iconic McLaren road cars whose designs were born of that vision,” said Goran Ozbolt, Chief Designer of McLaren Automotive. “Together with LEGO Speed Champions, we have created our first ever McLaren double pack which features the iconic McLaren F1 LM and our latest track focused hypercar, the Solus GT of which only 25 will be sold to customers and which was originally created as a video game concept car.”
“We aim to inspire LEGO vehicle fans of all ages with new and unique building experiences, every time we expand the Speed Champions Collection. This launch is another great example of this long-standing partnership,” added Christopher Leslie Stamp, Design Manager of the LEGO Group.

The McLaren F1 LM measures over 1.5 in. (4 cm) high, 5.5 in. (15 cm) long and 2.5 in. (7 cm) wide.
The McLaren Solus GT measures: 1.5 in. (4 cm) high, 6.5 in. (16 cm) long, 3 in (8cm) wide.
Both cost £39.99 / €44.99 / $34.99 USD
The new LEGO Speed Champions McLaren Solus GT and McLaren F1 LM set is available globally from March 1, 2023.
