McDonald’s is teaming up with the Harlem-born influencer Kerwin Frost for an innovative experience set to launch on December 11. This collaboration brings together Frost’s artistic flair and McDonald’s classic taste, creating a buzz among fast-food enthusiasts and fans alike.
Harlem-born influencer and artist, Kerwin Frost, transforms his childhood love for McDonald’s into a creative partnership. The centerpiece of this collaboration is the Kerwin Frost Box, offering a choice between a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets or a Big Mac, complete with fries, a drink, and a distinctive McNugget Buddy collectible. This marks a notable return of the McNugget Buddy, a beloved McDonald’s icon, after more than 25 years.

Frost’s involvement extends beyond the menu; he has creatively shaped the collectibles, embedding them with echoes of his Harlem roots. The line-up includes characters such as Kerwin Frost, the mayor of Frost Way; Don Bernice, a sartorial genius; and Uptown Moe, the neighborhood’s street-smart hero. These figures represent diverse expressions of creativity, mirroring Frost’s own experiences.
Furthermore, the collaboration features McDonald’s x Kerwin Frost apparel and footwear. This includes the unique Fry Guy shoes and various clothing items, with sales supporting the Harlem Arts Alliance. This aspect underlines Frost’s dedication to nurturing creative talents in his community.
Reflecting on this collaboration, Frost shared, “I’ve loved McDonald’s since I was a kid. I even had my own Ronald McDonald doll that I brought to picture day at school, and it was my dream to collect all the McNugget Buddies. Now, creating my own set of Buddies, each symbolizing different aspects of self-expression, feels surreal, like a dream come true.”
McDonald’s Chief Marketing Officer, Tariq Hassan, expressed excitement about this unique venture: “With last year’s Cactus Plant Flea Market Box, we unlocked the childlike joy of a Happy Meal for fans of all ages. We’re thrilled to team up with Kerwin, letting him bring his childhood McDonald’s memories to life and immersing our fans in the vibrant world of Frost Way.”
The McNugget Buddies, first introduced in 1988, have become emblematic of McDonald’s innovative spirit. This partnership with Frost, who cherished McDonald’s throughout his life, symbolizes the brand’s commitment to fostering creativity. “McDonald’s has been a great partner from Day One, allowing me to create without limits. I hope the Kerwin Frost Box inspires people to embrace their creativity and boldly express their true selves,” Frost added.
