The announcement back in March and the subsequent rigorous testing phase sparked curiosity. However, nothing could truly prepare us for the grandeur of the spectacle that has just been unveiled. Maserati has always been synonymous with GT competitions. Who can forget the formidable MC12 that reigned supreme from 2005 to 2010? This new race-bred machine, the Maserati GT2, serves as a fascinating bridge, connecting the automaker’s past, present and future.
This state-of-the-art vehicle is the love child of the MC12’s potent legacy and the innovative prowess of the MC20 super sports car. It takes the Nettuno V6 engine’s ferocious 463 kW/621 hp performance and pushes it to its absolute limits. But this isn’t merely a testament to the company’s history or present capabilities. Instead, it is a daring exploration into the future, where the Trident, Maserati’s emblem, seeks to etch new narratives into the racing arena.
Notably, the Maserati GT2 is a tribute to the gentleman drivers and private teams. Designed specifically for GT2 class competitions, the Maserati GT2 will show its prowess in the 2023 Fanatec GT European Series’ final stages. A full season awaits it in 2024.
