Lionel Messi - Back to Paris Saint-Germain

In an unexpected turn of events, Paris Saint-Germain‘s Lionel Messi sees his suspension reduced following his public apology for missing a training session. The decision signifies the club’s desire to move past the controversy and maintain a positive atmosphere within the team.

It was a sight that caught everyone off guard at Camp des Loges training grounds yesterday morning. Lionel Messi, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, made a surprising appearance despite being in the midst of a two-week suspension. The suspension was handed down after Messi skipped a training session on May 1st due to a commercial commitment in Saudi Arabia. However, a sincere public apology posted on the Argentine star’s Instagram account on Friday has seemingly diffused the situation and restored harmony within the club.

Following a disappointing 3-1 defeat against Lorient at Parc des Princes, Messi’s unexpected departure to Saudi Arabia sparked controversy and criticism. Paris Saint-Germain was compelled to take disciplinary action against their number 30, sidelining him for the away match against Troyes (3-1) and the upcoming home match against Ajaccio.

Messi broke his silence by addressing the issue in a heartfelt Instagram video, apologizing to his teammates and the club. He explained, “Sincerely, I thought we would have a day off after the match, as usual. I had organized this trip and could not cancel it. I had already canceled it before. I apologize to my teammates and wait for what the club wants to do with me.

PSG announced through their social media channels that Messi had returned to training on Monday morning, hinting at his potential availability for the match against Ajaccio in the 35th round of Ligue 1. According to Le Parisien, Messi’s apology satisfied the Parisian management, who decided to reduce his suspension.

Currently training alone while the rest of the team enjoys a well-deserved rest, Messi is set to join the next collective training session on Tuesday. He is expected to be fit and ready for the match against AC Ajaccio at Parc des Princes. With the incident now resolved internally, this development could have a significant impact on La Pulga’s future, as his contract with PSG expires at the end of the season.
