Montblanc, the legendary writing instrument maker, has teamed up with Ferrari to launch a new collector’s item: the Montblanc Ferrari Stilema SP3 Édition Limitée.
The Montblanc Ferrari Stilema SP3 Édition Limitée pen is the result of a collaboration between the two companies and is orchestrated by Ferrari‘s design director, Flavio Manzoni. This pen is a remarkable example of Montblanc‘s writing instrument craftsmanship, combining the design and performance of the new Ferrari Daytona SP3.
The Montblanc Ferrari Stilema SP3 Édition Limitée 599 is a fusion of Ferrari’s signature style codes and Montblanc’s writing instrument design. The pen pays homage to everything that makes up Ferrari’s DNA, such as architecture, proportions, surfaces, volumes, and aerodynamics. It is a testament to the partnership between Montblanc and Ferrari and reflects their shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of design and innovation.

“Even though the function and construction of a pen has nothing to do with a car, our goal was to create a writing instrument that perfectly matches the philosophy and language of the prancing horse brand, even before revealing its technical qualities,” said Nicolas Baretzki, CEO of Montblanc.
The Montblanc Ferrari Stilema SP3 pen replicates the flowing lines of the Ferrari Daytona SP3. The pen uses a unique material for its body and cap: a lightweight titanium, which is rarely used for Montblanc writing instruments. The angle of the cap’s dome is reminiscent of the way the front of the Ferrari Daytona SP3 cuts through the air, while the lines on the section and body are reminiscent of the bumper blades, creating a play of light and shadow. The exterior appearance of the pen visibly displays Ferrari’s signature, while the “engine” of the pen is clearly signed Montblanc.
The key element of the Montblanc Ferrari Stilema SP3 is its handmade nib in solid 18K white gold with a hidden refill mechanism, powered by ink. The nib is handcrafted by Montblanc’s experts in a process that requires more than 30 steps, reflecting the company’s ancestral know-how. The refill mechanism of the pen has been conceived in a way that is unprecedented in the Montblanc repertoire, and it perfectly matches the elegant silhouette of the writing instrument. The solid 18K white gold nib is adorned with an original SP3 engraving, and there is also a laser engraving on the cap depicting the Ferrari brand’s famous camel horse.
“We faced an exciting challenge to bring the proportions and fluidity of the Daytona SP3 to a writing instrument, with lines that perfectly combine dynamic performance and exceptional speed, without sacrificing the quality of the writing experience. We paid close attention to the fluidity of the form as well as the functionality, placing great emphasis on the exceptional feel of holding an exceptional fountain pen in your hands. The ink flow is fluid, and the pen is able to follow the rapid movements of writing, so that the hand can move as fast as the thoughts,” said Flavio Manzoni, design director at Ferrari.
Like the car that inspired this original design, the Montblanc Ferrari Stilema SP3 is limited to 599 pieces worldwide. This pen is the second writing instrument launched in collaboration between Montblanc and Ferrari, following the Montblanc Great Characters Enzo Ferrari collection. The Montblanc Ferrari Stilema SP3 is a testament to the two iconic luxury brands’ shared commitment to design, innovation, and exceptional craftsmanship.
