The arrival of the watches collection Leica ZM 11 marks an epoch of transformation and a renewal of commitment to unyielding craftsmanship and innovation. It’s where the meticulousness of watchmaking converges with the iconic design philosophy of Leica, a brand revered for over 150 years of pushing the boundaries in photography.
Crafted in partnership with Swiss movement developer Chronode, the Leica ZM 11 is powered by the automatic Leica Calibre LA-3001. This exceptional timepiece is a testament to precision, offering an accuracy of -4/+6 seconds per day and boasting an impressive 60 hours of power time. With its mesmerizing interaction of light and shadow, one can’t help but admire the ZM 11’s ability to transform, serving as a constant reminder of the relentless passage of time and the potential for innovation at every turn.
The watch’s intricate sandblasting, brushing, and polishing techniques are reminiscent of the renowned aesthetics of previous Leica watches, with the ZM 11 encapsulating this legacy within a robust 41 mm shell, available in both titanium and stainless steel.
The dual-layered dial of the ZM 11 Launch Edition is nothing short of a visual spectacle. Depending on the angle of view, it transitions from a sleek black to a vibrant red, a feature achieved not through printed visuals but via mechanical craftsmanship. The luminous filling of the brushed indexes with polished edges ensures high visibility in varied lighting conditions, reflecting the brand’s commitment to practical elegance.
The inclusion of the Leica Easy Change system is akin to the lens release button on a Leica camera – a nod to the brand’s roots in photography. A simple press of the red dot enables the wearer to seamlessly switch between elegant titanium and stainless steel, vulcanized rubber, or resilient fabric straps, ensuring the Leica ZM 11 is as versatile as it is captivating.
The collection features three unique timepieces, including the limited ZM 11 Titanium Launch Edition, limited to 250 watches, with a black and red dial, the ZM 11 Titanium Coffee Black with a warm-black dial – the price of these two titanium versions reaches €8,150 – and the ZM 11 Steel Midnight Blue with a blue and black dial, priced at €6,800. “This new addition encapsulates the harmony of innovative engineering and artistic craftsmanship,” comments a spokesperson from Leica.
The Leica ZM 11 will be available from the end of November at select Leica stores worldwide; including Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Spain, Portugal, UK, Netherlands, USA, Mexico, China, Japan, Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates and Australia.
