KENZO has formally pulled back the curtain on its latest creation: the KENZO-DOME. This inaugural series of sneakers, the brainchild of NIGO since his ascension to the role of artistic director in September 2021, will hit stores in the heat of summer.
Its creation is a loving homage to the gritty aesthetics of 90s skateboarding culture and its birthplace—the famed DÔME skate spot nestled within the confines of the iconic Palais de Tokyo in Paris.
Sporting a distinct minimalist cupsole design, the KENZO-DOME is poised to redefine sneaker culture. Its visual appeal takes a leaf out of the book of the classic Nike SB Janoski, but its distinctive charm sets it apart. The sneakers will be available in a myriad of color schemes, making use of two timeless materials – suede and grained leather – for the upper construction.

The KENZO-DOME is the embodiment of elegance, punctuated with functional design features. What immediately catches the eye are the chunky Napa leather tongues, adorned with bold rubber KENZO banners. The brand’s minimalist “K” logo graces the heel of the shoe, adding a touch of sophistication to an otherwise rugged design. The sneakers are grounded by durable gum rubber soles, providing ample grip for urban escapades or skateboarding adventures alike.

Eager sneakerheads will have to wait no longer, as the KENZO-DOME is set to release on May 30th. The stylish footwear will be available via KENZO’s official stores and select retailers.
