KARL LAGERFELD has announced a special collaboration to celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary.
The collaboration will feature a capsule collection that showcases an iconic sketch of Donald Duck hand-drawn by Karl Lagerfeld himself.
This collaboration is not the first time that these two names have come together. In 2004, Karl Lagerfeld participated in the celebrations held by Disneyland Paris to honor Donald Duck’s 70th anniversary. Donald has always been one of Karl’s favorite characters and this was a chance for him to pay tribute to his childhood companion in his own unique way.
Karl’s sketch of Donald Duck, which depicts the famous cartoon duck in Karl’s recognizable silhouette, has become an iconic image. The upcoming capsule collection will feature this rare sketch in various forms and sizes across the collection. The collection features playful essentials and bold outerwear, with the Donald Duck sketch appearing on various styles, as well as whimsical accessories and jewelry.
Several pieces in the Disney x KARL LAGERFELD collection are made with sustainable materials, highlighting the house’s commitment to its sustainability strategy. This includes organic cotton and recycled polyester, which are both environmentally friendly materials.
