As the iconic band Depeche Mode embarks on their much-anticipated Memento Mori World Tour (from March 23 to August 11, 2023), Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot steps up once again as their official charitable partner. The collaboration aims to create a synergy between the electrifying sounds of Depeche Mode and Hublot’s innovative timepieces, while supporting the global environmental protection charity, The Conservation Collective.

After a five-year hiatus, Depeche Mode, a band revered for their groundbreaking contributions to the music world, are set to kick off the Memento Mori World Tour in Sacramento, California on March 23. The tour will support their 15th studio album, Memento Mori, set to be released on March 24.

The mutual admiration between Hublot and Depeche Mode dates back to 2010 when they discovered their shared values: “be the first, be different, and be unique.” Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe fondly recalls their initial meeting, “We were thrilled to learn that Depeche Mode was going back on tour after all this time! We immediately knew we had to collaborate again.

The partnership aims to increase public awareness for The Conservation Collective, a global network consisting of 20 local foundations focused on protecting the environment, restoring nature, and combating climate change. Their strategy, “locally led, globally impactful,” resonates with both Hublot and Depeche Mode, who are eager to contribute to the cause. By supporting local community-led projects, The Conservation Collective tackles plastic pollution, improves waste management systems, and encourages businesses and consumers to reduce their overall plastic use.

Throughout their partnership, Hublot and Depeche Mode have joined forces in various philanthropic endeavors. Past collaborations have supported the Teenage Cancer Trust and charity: water, contributing to pediatric cancer research and providing clean water to developing communities worldwide. This time, they aim to make a tangible impact on sustainability, waste reduction, and environmental cleanup.

In addition to supporting The Conservation Collective, the Memento Mori World Tour will adopt sustainable practices on the road. Working alongside Live Nation’s Green Nation team, Depeche Mode and Hublot plan to reduce single-use plastics, improve recycling, and minimize food and other waste through on-tour programs and venue initiatives.

Depeche Mode’s singer duo, Dave Gahan and Martin Gore, express their gratitude to Hublot, stating, “We sincerely thank Hublot, our longtime collaborator, as well as Ricardo and all our friends at Hublot for sponsoring the charitable efforts of the Memento Mori World Tour and for partnering with our support for The Conservation Collective.”

Ben Goldsmith, Chairman of The Conservation Collective, also extends his appreciation: “Thank you to Depeche Mode and Hublot for boosting our work and promoting our stories on a global platform!

With this collaboration, Hublot and Depeche Mode demonstrate the power of music and innovation in driving positive change for the environment. The Memento Mori World Tour not only showcases Depeche Mode’s unique sound and Hublot’s cutting-edge watch designs but also emphasizes the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable development.

As the tour progresses across North America and Europe, the partnership between Hublot and Depeche Mode will continue to raise funds and awareness for The Conservation Collective. The duo’s commitment to promoting local initiatives with a global impact reflects their dedication to using their platform for the greater good.

In a world where the effects of climate change and the biodiversity crisis are increasingly apparent, the collaboration between Hublot and Depeche Mode serves as a beacon of hope. By championing the cause of The Conservation Collective, they inspire fans, businesses, and individuals to take action for a more sustainable future.

The Memento Mori World Tour is more than just a celebration of Depeche Mode’s legendary music and Hublot’s innovative timepieces; it is a powerful testament to the impact that art and innovation can have when united for a common cause. Together, Hublot and Depeche Mode are making a difference, one concert at a time, and proving that a shared vision for a better world can truly make a lasting impact.
