GIVENCHY celebrates 100 years of Disney and Lunar New Year 2023 with an exclusive capsule

More than six months after their inaugural collaboration, GIVENCHY and Disney have reunited to create an all-new capsule collection featuring Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in honor of Lunar New Year and the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company.

For the occasion, GIVENCHY creative director Matthew Williams has brought Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Mickey’s ancestor, back to life – created by Walt Disney and his studio artists, and known as the clever and fun-loving precursor to Mickey Mouse, Oswald is a first in the history of character animation.

For the first time in nearly 95 years, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, as The Walt Disney Company celebrates its 100th anniversary next year and we enter the new lunar year of the Water Rabbit, reappears in a brand new short film from Walt Disney Animation Studios: “Oswald the Lucky Rabbit” where the character travels all around the world, from New York to Paris, Los Angeles, Shanghai or Tokyo – a “one-of-a-kind world tour” that captures Oswald’s mischievous and energetic spirit and GIVENCHY aesthetic in a mixed capsule collection.

For men, the GIVENCHY x Disney Oswald capsule features a red teddy showing Oswald riding a wild horse to Los Angeles, a blue shirt with Oswald surrounded by bandana designs, jeans still featuring the character accompanied by a lucky red horseshoe. Also included are T-shirts with the letters GIVENCHY displaying key words and places, such as “Lucky” and “New York City”, sweatshirts and tracksuits showing Oswald ready to fight.

A wide range of accessories completes the collection and includes GIVENCHY x Oswald sneakers, card holders, tote bags, small shoulder bags, phone and headphone cases, and caps.

The Oswald Disney X Givenchy capsule collection is already available in China, Singapore and the Tokyo Ikebukuro pop-up store, as well as the Miami Aventura pop-up store. It will hit the rest of the world on December 30 in stores and on givenchy.com.
