Revealed earlier this year, GANNI and New Balance have now pulled the curtain back on their latest brainchild, fusing the essence of the 1906R and the RC30, painting a vivid picture of dual-brand synergy in vibrant “Egret” and “Blazing Yellow” shades.
New Balance, the iconic Boston sportswear maestro, has been dominating the collaboration charts recently. With lauded projects alongside big names like Bodega and BEAMS, their footprint in this niche has deepened, and the excitement continues to build. GANNI, no stranger to fashionable alliances, now adds its distinct touch, elevating New Balance’s offerings to an even higher realm.
At the heart of this joint venture is the New Balance 1906, an anticipated successor to the duo’s 2002R, which made waves in 2022. However, this time, the approach is refined. GANNI has chosen a more understated avenue, highlighting simplicity yet with tantalizing hints of flair. The dominantly pristine white mesh uppers, complemented by smooth leather overlays, form a canvas contrasted by stark black details, from trim to the interior liners and speckled laces. Yet, it’s the GANNI signatures that truly steal the show. With branded elements punctuating the shoe’s throat and bursts of yellow making their mark from the heel tabs to the iconic “N” logos, the design embodies a harmonious blend of two worlds.
As for the finishing touches? The midsoles are kissed by a delicate gray, juxtaposed with bold, shadowy highlights, ensuring every angle of this footwear masterpiece mesmerizes.
Fans won’t have to wait long. The 1906R will be gracing the shelves on August 16 through GANNI, followed by an August 18 release via New Balance. For those with an eye on the RC30, that’s exclusively GANNI’s turf, with price tags set at $170 USD and $120 USD for the two models respectively.
