Two 80’s superstars G-SHOCK and Super Mario, the most popular arcade game of all time, have teamed up to release a limited edition watch that takes us right back to the best hours of our childhood spent in front of the Nintendo console.
The G-SHOCK x Super Mario is based on the DW5600SMB-4ER model reworked in the colors of the popular Super Mario platform game by Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka.
A true reminder of nostalgia, the watch is shown in Mario red applied to the bezel and dial, complemented by a blue dial background reminiscent of scenes from the game’s universe as well as gold accents depicting the precious coins you must collect throughout the game.
When the screen’s backlighting is activated, the famous silhouette of the character so recognizable by his mustache, overalls, white gloves and red cap marked with an M appears, accompanied by Koopa Troopa’s shell printed on the bottom of the screen. As a final nod to the 8-bit video games of the 1980s, all the fonts on the dial are in 8-bit, as is an 8-bit Mario printed on the camouflage strap.
The G-SHOCK DW5600SMB-4ER x Super Mario will come in unique packaging, featuring an illustration of the game’s opening screen and Mario’s signature phrase: “Here we go!“
