CASIO has unveiled a limited edition G-SHOCK DW-6900RH-2JR in collaboration with NBA player Rui Hachimura. This is the Washington Wizards’ star forward’s third signature watch with G-SHOCK.
Since the debut of their partnership in November 2019, the Japanese player has already had the two signature watches, of which this third one has just become known.
Based on the popular DW-6900 shockproof model, dubbed the “three-eyed watch” due to its row of three indicators on the dial, the DW-6900RH-2JR features a base fully adorned with the silhouette of the Tateyama mountain in Toyama, the prefecture where Hachimura was born in.
The dial features a map of the contours of the majestic Tateyama Mountain, while the strap displays its snow-capped peaks. Hachimura’s iconic “Black Samurai” logo is engraved on the case back – it is also present on the packaging and on the LCD screen when the backlight is on. The logo incorporates the Kanji character for 8, which is pronounced like “hachi” to match both his last name and jersey number.
“I designed this third model based on the image of the Tateyama Mountains in my hometown of Toyama, a place that holds fond memories for me, with the bright colors and the great view of Tateyama as a motif. I hope you all enjoy it!,” said Rui Hachimura.
