Freud’s Last Session,” featuring the legendary Anthony Hopkins as Sigmund Freud and the talented Matthew Goode as C.S. Lewis, is nearing the completion of its filming process in Ireland.

Freud’s Last Session” has already garnered significant attention, with Sony Pictures Classics acquiring rights to distribute the film across numerous regions, including North America, the Middle East, and Latin America. WestEnd Films, responsible for selling the movie, has also secured distribution deals in various countries such as Australia, Scandinavia, and Italy.

Directed by Matthew Brown (“The Man Who Knew Infinity“) and penned by Mark St. Germain (“The God Committee“), the film is based on the play of the same name. The project reunites Brown with Academy Award-winning production designer Luciana Arrighi, who previously collaborated on “The Man Who Knew Infinity.” Cinematographer Ben Smithard, known for his work on “The Father” with Hopkins, joins the project alongside costume designer Eimer Ni Mhaoldomhnaigh, BAFTA award-winning makeup designer Morna Ferguson, and editor Paul Tothill.

The film’s star-studded cast includes Jodi Balfour, Stephen Campbell Moore, Jeremy Northam, and Orla Brady, each bringing their unique talents to this highly anticipated drama. WestEnd Films and CAA Media Finance oversee the film’s sales, with support from Screen Ireland and the UK Global Screen Fund.
