The Ferrari Fall 2023 collection is a testament to the beauty of motion and speed. Creative director Rocco Iannone explored the concept of “beauty in motion” for this highly anticipated collection. After four seasons on the competitive fashion circuit, Iannone has successfully translated Ferrari’s preeminence on the racetrack to the runway.
The collection starts with muted dark tones of modernized tailoring and workwear, with oversized seam detailing. Iannone then introduces the iconic Ferrari lettering, this time in 15-color yarn intarsias, sometimes blurred with the movement of fringing. The padding chicane references the famous driver jumpsuits, with protective-looking vests echoing kenjutsu-wear. The super rounded pants seem to pay homage to David Bowie in Kansai Yamamoto.
Iannone’s attention to detail is evident in the cross-gender portage of handbags and folios attached with aerodynamically shaped pods of hardware. The sneakers at the end deliver visually tangible bounces of suspension with every step. Iannone emphasizes the importance of inserting unexpected elements into the Ferrari narrative.
This collection is not just about Ferrari’s love for speed and motion, but also about gender equality. Neither gender takes the driving seat in this collection.
Ferrari’s global audience is huge, but the marque is determined to take the high road in fashion. The Ferrari Fall 2023 collection is a perfect blend of Ferrari’s love for speed and motion, combined with a strong sense of style and fashion.
