The Ferragamo Fall 2023 collection marked a significant moment in the Milan Fashion Week calendar this season as its new Creative Director, Maximilian Davis, took center stage to showcase his sophomore collection. With a background in fashion design, Davis has set forth on a journey to redefine the luxury House of Ferragamo and has been making waves with his fresh take on the brand’s iconic style.
Davis drew inspiration from the 1950s, a golden era for the brand, when clients included Hollywood legends such as Audrey Hepburn and Marylin Monroe. The designer took elements from the period’s tailoring and sportswear and added a contemporary twist to create a unique and modern collection. The set was a stunning construction inspired by James Cameron and Richard Serra, and guests at the event included Uma Thurman and NCT’s Lee Jeno.
The collection featured a range of pieces for both men and women, including high-lapeled jackets, circle skirts, and sweetheart necklines for women, and tailored suits for men. The designer also incorporated off-duty looks such as jeans, tank tops, and cocoon hoodies, making the collection accessible for everyday wear. The bags, which included oversized daybags in lilac and natural lizard, were the perfect finishing touch to each outfit.
Davis made a bold statement with his use of red, which is a color that the brand is trying to make its own. The designer showcased a red pantsuit and a male-worn leather trench, as well as a bathrobe coat in scarlet and black leather. The black suit, black dress, and black tracksuit were all defined by welts of scarlet, creating a unique and eye-catching look.
