One of the rarest sneakers of all time, the eBay x Nike SB Dunk Low, will make its return very soon with a 2022 version paying homage to the original pair.
Fast forward to 2003, the year Nike produced three eBay x Nike SB Dunk Low pairs for charity. One was auctioned off for $26,000, the second which is the original sample on display at the auction was cut into four pieces and the final pair was given to the late Sandy Bodecker, one of the founding fathers of the Nike SB branch, in 2008 as a retirement gift.
Almost two decades later, the highly desirable eBay x Nike SB Dunk Low is set to make a comeback, in its original OG palette.
For 2022, the eBay x Nike SB Dunk Low returns in the same color scheme as the original. The pair features a white base with the American marketplace’s iconic red, yellow, blue and green overlays present along the patent leather construction. This new version now features transparent TPU cross-cutouts as a nod to where the original eBay Dunk Low sample was cut. The heel panels also feature SB branding instead of the eBay logo. The finishing touch includes insoles featuring a photo of Sandy Bodecker and his son on the left sole and on the right sole, the photo of the original eBay Dunk Low sample cut out.
