In a recent viewing of their newest works, Dan Caten took a moment to reflect on the brand’s evolution, expressing that despite their journey around the globe for inspiration and seasonal themes, they discovered a profound truth. “We do best in what we really are,” he stated. This unfiltered self-awareness has led them back to their core design philosophy, combining a risqué appeal and non-conformity in a style fusion that defines their distinctive brand ethos.
The DSQUARED2 Resort 2024 collection encapsulates this essence, pushing the boundaries by contrasting a seductive, often edgy aesthetic with athletic undertones, radiating what Caten referred to as a “suburb chick” attitude. An audacious interplay of denim further exemplified this direction. These included designs ranging from generous, relaxed pants contrasted with incredibly short jackets, to jeans featuring side openings and unusual hip-buttoning.
