After The Clash, Dr. Martens has tapped Italian retailer Slam Jam for a new collaboration – a first for both partners.
While Dr. Martens has been closely associated with a form of rebellion and “subcultures” since its beginning, it was this last element that served as a bridge for the two partners who found themselves around art, music and clubbing.
At the center of this collaboration was the Dr. Martens 1461, whose collaborative silhouette drew inspiration from workwear and electronic music subcultures.
The new Dr. Martens 1461 revisited by Slam Jam was crafted with smooth black leather, embellished with custom molded vamps and sidewalls to nod to protective footwear as well as reflective details and laces typically found on high-vis jackets. Other details included eyelets on the sides, screw-off aglets and a black-on-black heel loop. Slam Jam’s embossed (Un)corporate Uniforms and a traditional DMS outsole complete the design.
