After receiving an official poster with a release date of March 1, 2023, we now have the first trailer of Creed 3 and it looks explosive.
Rocky, for those who don’t know, is a long legendary saga whose genesis begins in 1976 with the first of the name directed by John G. Avildsen and scripted by the young Sylvester Stallone, to whom the first role was also entrusted. Five sequels followed between 1976 and 2006, including Rocky Balboa – the sixth and final Rocky, directed by Stallone himself. We had to wait nine years later to see the first spin-off Creed released in 2015, with Michael B. Jordan interpreting Adonis Johnson, the illegitimate son of the famous world heavyweight champion boxer Apollo Creed, who died before his birth and was a great friend of Rocky. Creed 2 was followed three years later and Creed 3 serves now as a sequel, of which we now know the trailer.
Based on a script by Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin, adapted from a story they co-wrote with Ryan Coogler, Creed 3 will also be the first film directed by Michael B. Jordan.

“My directorial debut?! Still sounds crazy to say but there’s no film that has been more personal to me and no film I’ve felt more ready to steer. Excited to share the first trailer for Creed 3. To my cast & crew thanks for working so hard to continue the legacy of the franchise,” Michael B. Jordan wrote on Twitter.
The story of Creed 3 tells the rise of Adonis “Donnie” Creed and the complicated reunion between two childhood friends: Adonis and a certain Damian Anderson, played by Jonathan Majors, the future super-villain Kang in the upcoming Avengers. The two men lost touch after an unfortunate event that forced Damian to spend eighteen years in prison. Anderson released. Adonis helps him train in his gym. Except that this protagonist is filled with rancor and seems to be determined to fight the whole world, especially Adonis. All of which makes for some real fireworks in the ring, and previewed in the trailer.
“After dominating the boxing world, Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) has thrived in both his career and his family life,” the synopsis states. “When childhood friend and former boxing prodigy Damian (Jonathan Majors) resurfaces after serving a lengthy prison sentence, he’s eager to prove he deserves his chance in the ring. The confrontation between old friends is more than just a fight…”
