Clarks has launched the Torhill, a classic silhouette modernized for today’s world. And to make the launch extra special, they have teamed up with one of Hollywood’s hottest young stars, Jabari Banks.
Jabari Banks is a multi-talented individual, known for his role as Will Smith in the hit drama series “Bel-Air,” which is gearing up for its second season. He has received numerous nominations for his performance in the series, including “Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series” by the 2023 NAACP Image Awards and “Best Actor” by the 2022 BET awards. A musician and activist hailing from Philadelphia, Banks previously studied musical theater at the University of the Arts and currently resides in Los Angeles.
The Torhill, inspired by Clarks‘ 90s Big Gripper, is a perfect combination of sporty casual style and daring features. It boasts oversized ribbed soles for maximum comfort, and the leather and suede uppers are reminiscent of Clarks’ iconic silhouettes. The moccasin stitching is reminiscent of the Wallabee, making the Torhill a nostalgic and design-oriented shoe.
For the Torhill’s first launch, Clarks took a “social-first” approach, with designer content and user-generated content at the center of the campaign. Banks and his friends, social media stars, created custom TikToks to announce the Torhill’s release, using hashtags like #GRWM and #Unboxing. Banks’ #HowIWearMyTorhill video will even unveil his new single, giving his fans a chance to hear his new project.
Jabari Banks, who is a big fan of the nineties, was thrilled to be part of this collaboration with Clarks. He says, “I love what they’re doing right now, and I’m flattered to be the new face of their latest icon, the Torhill. It looks like the Wallabee but even cooler! It was really fun to make all the content for this campaign on TikTok, especially with the best designers on the platform right now. The style is awesome.”
