Unveiled in preview at the GCDS Fall/Winter 2022 show in Milan, the first-ever collaboration between GCDS and Clarks is off the runway and finally landing in select Clarks and GCDS stores worldwide.
Classic and streetwear sometimes go hand in hand, like this capsule that fuses the timeless, classic styles of Clarks with the streetwear aesthetic of the brand owned by brothers Giuliano and Giordano Calza whose name, GCDS, stands for “God Can’t Destroy Streetwear.”
Thus, the collaborative collection, consisting of one style of mules and another of loafers with a unisex aesthetic, aims to make everyday footwear more playful with unexpected proportions.
The pair of mules with a modern, minimalist look, available in three versions: smooth leather, distressed leather or with a leopard print, emphasizes its rounded toe and wide silver buckle fastening strap. Meanwhile, the loafer was given an imposing sole that nevertheless lends itself perfectly to the shoe’s bold lines.
Speaking on the collaboration, GCDS’s creative director Giuliano Calza says, “The aim of the project was to design the perfect shoes for both elegant and everyday use. As a kid, I always believed Clarks were the shoes for important occasions, and now, thanks to this amazing collaboration between us, I think these are the right shoes for any occasion.”
