Louis Vuitton has recently named J-Hope, a popular K-pop star and member of the famous boy band BTS, as its new brand ambassador.
J-Hope is highly regarded by fans all over the world due to his upbeat energy, precise choreography, and creative musical direction. With a positive presence both on and off the stage, J-Hope continues to break boundaries and inspire audiences globally.
This is not the first time that BTS has worked with Louis Vuitton, as the band was collectively named as brand ambassadors for the fashion house in April 2021. However, this partnership has since expired, and with the group taking a hiatus, its members have been signing individual deals with various fashion houses. J-Hope joins a roster of brand ambassadors at Louis Vuitton that includes Jackson Wang, Bradley Cooper, and Tahar Rahim. J-Hope’s bandmate, Jimin, recently signed with DIOR, while Suga is a brand ambassador for Valentino.
At the 2022 Grammy Awards, BTS, which consists of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, wore custom Louis Vuitton suits. J-Hope, the lead dancer of the band, opted for an all-white suite with matching sneakers. The band was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in the 2023 awards for its hit collaboration with Coldplay, “My Universe.“
BTS was ranked second in the Global Recording Artist Chart for 2022, published by IFPI, the organization that represents the recorded music industry worldwide. This marked the band’s third consecutive year in the top three, following back-to-back wins in 2020 and 2021. Louis Vuitton referred to BTS as “21st century pop icons” and stated that J-Hope “brings his unique charm and style” to the renewed partnership with the fashion house.
The influence of K-pop stars has been steadily increasing, as shown by the feedback from the latest men’s fashion weeks in Paris and Milan. Launchmetrics, a data firm, reported that “brands focused on strengthening their voices in the APAC market” and noted that South Korea was the dominant focus throughout both weeks.
To celebrate the partnership, Louis Vuitton shared a series of editorial photos on their official social media channels, featuring J-Hope modeling ensembles from the brand’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection. These include an iridescent jacket in the brand’s signature monogrammed print, a chic cloud gray varsity jacket with “Vuitton” in maroon lettering, and a streetwear-inspired denim hoodie with radioactive yellow stitching.
Earlier this month, J-Hope released his new documentary “J-Hope in the Box” on Weverse and Disney+. The film documents the 200 days leading up to the release of his debut solo album “Jack in the Box,” as well as his history-making headlining performance at Lollapalooza 2022.
